Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen might miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final against South Africa.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinal between the Super Eagles and South Africa may not feature Victor Osimhen, as he was unable to travel to Bouake with the rest of the team from Abidjan.
Rivals South Africa and Nigeria square off in the competition's opening semi-final on Wednesday in Bouake in an attempt to advance to Sunday's championship game.
The Super Eagles media staff said in a statement that Osimhen will be watched in Abijdan while the rest of the team travels to Bouake to play South Africa.
"We will take a 10 p.m. Air Cote d'Ivoire flight today from Abidjan to Bouaké," the squad announced in an official statement on Monday night.
Due to stomach pain, Victor Osimhen will not be travelling with us.
He has been put under strict observation, according to team physicians, and one of the medical team members is remaining behind in Abidjan to accompany him.
"He will rejoin the squad before 5 p.m. if cleared by tomorrow morning.”
Osimhen has started for the Super Eagles in each of their five games in Cote d'Ivoire, recording one assist and one goal.
